Second Chance Emergency Fund

This fund provides money to be used for potentially adoptable animals who need expensive health care which the Animal Services Authority can't afford. Through the generosity of the community, this fund has paid for medical tests and procedures which have enabled animals to heal and find loving, "forever" homes. Without this special fund, most of these animals would never get their "second chance."

MEET OTTO, ONE OF OUR SUCCESS STORIES!
Otto came to Animal Services with a heart murmur. Because he was such a young dog with a wonderful temperament, Friends chose to pay for a cardiac ultrasound and x-rays. These tests determined that his condition was not severe, and he was adopted out to George DeLeón, a county animal control officer. He is thriving with his family and has also become an ambassador in our community. George teaches humane education in local schools, showing children how to care for animals and approach animals they don’t know. He is accompanied by Otto, his trusty assistant!
